ADHD Counseling

ADHD is more than just being distracted or disorganized—it’s a neurodevelopmental difference that affects how your brain manages time, attention, and tasks. For adults, this often looks like forgotten appointments, piles of unfinished projects, emotional reactivity, or a constant sense of falling behind. It’s not about laziness or lack of willpower.

At Bridgeways, I offer a structured, supportive approach to help you work with your ADHD—not against it. Whether you struggle with follow-through, impulsivity, restlessness, or overwhelm, we’ll develop practical tools tailored to your daily life. We'll also explore the emotional toll ADHD can take, including shame, self-doubt, and burnout.

You don’t need to mask your symptoms or power through alone. With the right strategies and support, it’s absolutely possible to create a life that feels more focused, empowered, and aligned with how your brain actually works.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, solution-focused approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. It’s based on the idea that it’s not just what happens to you—but how you interpret it—that shapes your emotional responses.

In our work together, CBT can help you identify unhelpful patterns, challenge distorted thinking, and build new ways of responding that support your goals. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, ADHD, addictions, or major life stressors, CBT offers real tools for lasting change—not just insight, but action.

Counseling for Anxiety

Anxiety isn’t just “worry.” It can show up as racing thoughts, restlessness, muscle tension, irritability, trouble sleeping, or even physical symptoms like a racing heart or upset stomach. It often stems from a nervous system stuck in survival mode—constantly scanning for what might go wrong. Over time, it can leave you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from the life you want to live.

At Bridgeways, I take a compassionate, evidence-based approach to treating anxiety. Using tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, we’ll work together to understand the roots of your anxiety and develop strategies that calm your mind and body. We’ll challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build emotional resilience, and help you respond to stress with greater clarity and confidence.

Anxiety is treatable—and you don’t have to navigate it alone. With the right support, it’s possible to feel more grounded, more present, and more at peace.

Life Transitions

Major life changes—like a death, divorce, job loss, health diagnosis, or children leaving home—can shake your foundation. Even positive changes, such as retirement, remarriage, or a new career path, can bring stress, grief, and unexpected emotional fallout. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck in uncertainty, or unsure how to move forward.

At Bridgeways, I help adults navigate transitions with clarity and purpose. Whether you're facing midlife shifts, caregiving responsibilities, career burnout, a breakup, or simply asking, “What’s next for me?”—this is a space to process, regroup, and rebuild. Together, we’ll explore the impact of change on your identity, work through the emotions that come with it, and create a new path that feels aligned and empowering.

Using CBT, mindfulness, and values-based strategies, we’ll turn this chapter of uncertainty into a catalyst for deeper self-understanding and lasting growth. Transitions don’t have to break you. With the right support, they can redefine you.

Personal Addiction Counseling

Addiction isn’t just about substances—it’s about what the substance is helping you avoid. Whether it's alcohol, prescription drugs, or other substances, addiction often begins as a way to cope with stress, trauma, or emotional pain. Over time, it can impact your relationships, work, health, and sense of self.

At Bridgeways, I provide nonjudgmental, trauma-informed support for adults ready to break the cycle. We’ll look beyond the substance to understand the “why” behind the behavior—what it’s numbing, soothing, or distracting you from. Then we’ll build practical strategies to support your recovery, prevent relapse, and rebuild the parts of your life that may have been affected.

Using evidence-based tools like CBT and motivational interviewing, we’ll create a structured, sustainable path forward—on your terms. Recovery isn’t just about abstinence; it’s about reclaiming your life.

Counseling For Trauma

Trauma can leave an invisible imprint—long after the event is over. Whether it stems from abuse, neglect, sudden loss, medical trauma, accidents, or chronic stress, trauma can disrupt your sense of safety, trust, and identity. You may find yourself stuck in survival mode—anxious, numb, irritable, shut down, or overwhelmed by triggers you can’t always explain.

At Bridgeways, I take a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, empowerment, and pacing that feels right for you. We won’t just revisit the past—we’ll help you understand how trauma is still living in your nervous system today, and gently work toward healing.

Using a combination of CBT, mindfulness, and narrative work, we’ll help you process what happened, reclaim your sense of self, and begin to feel more grounded, present, and in control again. You don’t have to keep carrying this alone. Healing is possible—and it starts with being truly seen and supported.

Counseling For Bipolar

Living with bipolar disorder can feel like being on a rollercoaster—cycling between periods of high energy, impulsivity, or agitation, and stretches of deep depression, fatigue, or hopelessness. It can be confusing, isolating, and exhausting—not just for you, but for those close to you.

At Bridgeways, I offer a supportive, structured approach to managing bipolar disorder. Together, we’ll work to recognize early warning signs, stabilize mood patterns, and develop routines that support emotional balance. We’ll also address the impact of bipolar on your relationships, self-image, and daily functioning.

With the right tools—including CBT, mood tracking, and collaboration with your medical provider—bipolar disorder can be managed. My role is to help you find steadiness, insight, and a sense of control, so you can live a life that feels more consistent, empowered, and true to you.
